Kiwis will be the first consumers on the planet to get the new Coke flavour, with production starting next week.
The auction is open to overseas bidders as it is expected to attract the attention of international Coca-Cola memorabilia collectors.
Collectors the world-over pay a high price for Coca-Cola memorabilia:
* The first bottle of Coke Zero (a low-carb product available in the US) was auctioned on eBay last month and snapped up by a collector for US$2,750 * A Coca-Cola calendar from 1890s sold for more than US$40,000 * Rare empty bottles go for up to US$4,000 - an unopened glass bottle from 1957 is currently being offered online with an asking price of US$3,400
* Signs, posters and tray mats from the '40s to the '60s are frequently sold or between US$100 and $500
All proceeds from the TradeMe auction go to Youthline, which is celebrating Youth Week this week (www.youthweek.co.nz). Youth Week in New Zealand is a celebration of young people and youth workers and is about encouraging young people's participation and connections to their communities.
Coca-Cola Raspberry and Diet Coke with Raspberry will be available at retail outlets from May 30 2005.
