1500 AMP delegates descend on Auckland
Auckland city will be overrun with financial advisers this coming week for the AMP National Convention – held for the
very first time in the City of Sails.
Around 1500 delegates, from New Zealand, Australia and India, will be at the Convention – one of the largest conferences
to be held in New Zealand. So large, in fact, that it is being held across two different locations, the AOTEA Centre and
the SkyCity Convention Centre.
Bringing the three-day annual conference to New Zealand for the first time is a reflection of the importance of the New
Zealand market to AMP.
“In 2004, we moved AMP Financial Services head office to Auckland,” says AMP Financial Services Managing Director,
Stephen White. “Now, this major conference heading to Auckland shores signifies just how important the Auckland market
is to AMP and the strong position we are in for growth in the New Zealand market.”
“Our financial services industry is dynamic and the outcome of the Government-appointed Taskforce promises to bring
further change, which will be great news for the end consumer. The AMP conference is an opportunity for Advisers from
across the AMP Group, and other industry experts, to share experiences and views on best practice in financial advice
and take the lead in changes for our industry.”
AMP’s most senior executives are travelling to Auckland for the convention, including Managing Director and CEO of AMP
Ltd, Andrew Mohl, and Managing Director of AMP Financial Services, Craig Dunn.
The conference will run from Monday 17 January to Wednesday 19 January.
