Prime Time Victory
Prime Television last night gained its first ever prime-time victory over all the other networks, with a peak audience
of 436,500 viewers.
Last night’s episode of Prime’s flagship programme Who Wants To Be A Millionaire saw New Zealander Alan Tomlinson pick
up a hefty cheque from host Eddie McGuire for nearly $270,000.
As Alan made his way to the big bucks win at 8.15pm, a record 436,500 New Zealander’s were watching Prime, versus TV1’s
400,300, 294,700 on TV2 and 423,100 on TV3.
Overall Who Wants To Be A Millionaire peaked at a 24.2% share, maintaining an average 18.8% share over the 7.30-8.30pm
hour.
Prime expects the programme’s ratings records to continue with another New Zealand Millionaire wannabe, 51-year old
chemist Scott Smith, opposite Eddie McGuire in the hot seat on Monday 11th October.
