Telecom And Amway Sign New Agreement
Telecom and Amway have agreed an $8.5 million, two-year mobile contract. Under the new contract, Telecom will provide
handsets and calling plan options to Amway’s more than 12,500 New Zealand Independent Business Owners (IBOs). The
contract was re-signed at the beginning of August.
Working closely with Amway, Telecom developed specific plans to help meet the various requirements of Amway’s New
Zealand IBOs, many of whom operate their Amway businesses part-time, in the evenings.
Amway IBOs can choose the handsets and new tailored calling programmes through the parent organisation, according to
what works best for their specific needs.
Peter Williams, Regional Vice President of Amway Asia Pacific explains the contract was developed with its IBOs at top
of mind.
“Amway is only as successful as our IBOs and so we’ve developed an agreement to meet their specific needs and
requirements,” said Peter Williams. “It is the result of both Amway and Telecom thoroughly understanding our people and
their businesses.”
Telecom has been providing mobile telecommunications support to Amway for the past four years.
“The new agreement continues to build on an existing relationship between Amway and Telecom,” said Mark O’Donnell,
General Manager, Telecom.

both worked very hard together to help Amway meets its objectives and vision for the company and IBOs throughout the
country.”
