Gordon's Guided To Terrace Downs High Country Resort
Terrace Downs High Country Resort is to be the first resort in Australasia represented on one of the United States top
adventure travel websites.
Gordon¹sGuide.com will soon feature New Zealand¹s only high country resort after the increasingly-popular destination
was invited to appear on the guide¹s internet pages. GordonsGuide.com has been awarded "Best of the Web" by Forbes
Magazine each year from 2000 to 2004.
Gordon¹s Guide has been creating marketplaces for adventure travel businesses around the globe for ten years. The guide
links adventure and active holiday providers and resorts with active travellers.
In 1994, Timothy Gordon set out to catalogue the most exciting tour operators in the world by compiling a 512-page book
Gordon¹s Guide to Adventure Vacations. Since its launch in 1999, GordonsGuide.com has been recognised as the premier
adventure travel website, with 10 million visitors per annum being tracked.
Now, in a move to extend the guide in the South Pacific, Terrace Downs has been chosen for inclusion due to its setting
in New Zealand¹s ultimate adventure holiday destination.
The resort sits at the foot of the Southern Alps, perched on a terrace above the mighty Rakaia River Gorge. Terrace
Downs offers an iconic high country experiece that is authentically New Zealand. In this raw, rugged setting, guests can
experience the high country at its best.
The endless array of adventures in the immediate area include jet-boating, rafting and hiking through the Rakaia Gorge,
hot air ballooning across the Canterbury Plains, fishing and hunting in the adjacent rivers and hills and skiing on
nearby Mt Hutt. The area also offers heli-skiing opportunities in the Southern Alps and four wheel driving in the back
country. Guests have the much-acclaimed Terrace Downs championship golf course at their doorstep.
Jo Moore, Terrace Downs¹ marketing and business development manager, says the resort is the perfect destination for
those seeking adventure. If you want to play in the high country we can make it happen," says Jo Moore.
Appearing on Gordon'sGuide.com is an exciting move for Terrace Downs. We are committed to this area, and to be able to
represent the high country of New Zealand and all it has to offer is an honour. Already we are seeing a growing number
of guests from overseas, and we expect this exposure will increase awareness of our position as
