NZPA Presents The Newwws
Keeping on top of the latest news just got easier with the launch of a new service from the NZPA. The Newwws automates
news site and web page checking, telling you when any of your favourite sites change.
The Newwws was developed by UK software company, Wordcraft International, who supplied NZPA with a customised version of
the software, designed to seamlessly integrate with the news agency’s popular NewsQuest Internet database.
The Newwws family consists of two products based on Wordcraft's innovative Newwws Engine technology:
The Newwws - automatically monitors information sources from the Internet and delivers information extracts and change
notifications to the desktop.
Business Information Server - a multi-user, network version of The Newwws. Information is gathered and filtered to meet
the needs of your organisation.
NZPA Commercial Manager, Matthew Harman, said, “The Newwws meets a clear demand from communications professionals,
journalists and other news junkies, who need access to relevant up-to-the-second news, but don’t necessarily have the
time to go looking for it”
With The Newwws, headlines from any nominated website can be displayed in a scrolling ticker window – with a click
through to the full text content.
The Newwws comes installed with hundreds of pre-defined Internet sources, including twenty-five popular NewsQuest
categories and sub-categories. There are many thousands more freely available for download from the on-line Newwws
Exchange. More importantly, you can easily create your own sources - either with two clicks of the mouse, or using The
Newwws Editor Wizard for more flexibility.
The Newwws cuts out the wait by telling you what you need to know, when you need to know it - automatically.
