Draft Decision On Callplus Brings Certainty
The Telecommunications Commissioners draft decision on CallPlus would resolve longstanding issues affecting the industry, Telecom said today.
“This draft decision shows the Commissioner will take into account agreements Telecom has reached in commercial negotiations with other players, when he is deciding on new applications,” said General Manager Government and Industry Relations Bruce Parkes.
“This approach should be welcomed by the industry as a whole.
“The Commissioner also said that some parts of CallPlus’s application, such as the “national transport” of calls, are outside his domain.
“It’s good that the industry now has more certainty about the scope of the regulatory regime,” Mr Parkes said.
