NZ SHAREMILKER OF THE YEAR TICKETS SELLING FAST
Nearly half the tickets have already been sold for the New Zealand Sharemilker of the Year national final awards function to be held in Auckland on May 3.
National Convenor Chris Keeping says tickets for the black tie dinner are limited to 500, and 240 had already been sold.
"During its 15-year history, the New Zealand Sharemilker of the Year has generated a reputation for selecting winners that go on to take leadership positions in the dairy industry - people like to be associated with that," Ms Keeping says. "They also know our finals dinners are fun and entertaining."
During the awards evening, 12 finalists will compete for a total prize pool worth more than $60,000 and the coveted title of 2003 New Zealand Sharemilker of the Year.
The New Zealand Sharemilker of the Year is run in association with Federated Farmers of New Zealand Inc and is sponsored by ACC, Blue Wing Honda, Bank of New Zealand, Fonterra, Livestock Improvement, Ravensdown, Ecolab, RD1, Dairy InSight and Dexcel.
Ms Keeping says popular entertainer Gary McCormick will act as MC for the night, which is being held in the setting of the Alumni Marquee in the Old Government House Grounds.
"We think it'll be a special evening and that it is rather unique for the final to be held in Auckland city.
"We're also pleased we have been able to work with organisers of the 'Cow Parade', currently on display throughout Auckland city, to secure some of the fibreglass brightly decorated cows for featuring on the night."
Tickets cost $60 and can be purchased from Federated Farmers freephone 0800 327 646.
