Shell New Zealand is giving customers until midday Tuesday 4 February to fill up their vehicles at the old price, before
Shell is forced to raise prices as a result of increasing international oil prices.
“Shell is always reluctant to raise prices, but increasing world oil prices have impacted on our costs, “ Shell’s Retail
Manager Mark Nobilo said today.
“It is never pleasant to advise customers of price rises, however the reality of the situation is that concerns over
possible war in the Middle East have seen oil prices continue to rise.
“It is not possible to predict what will happen to prices going forward, as we face a period of relative uncertainty on
the international scene. However, Shell is committed to bringing New Zealanders the best possible fuel prices, and we
will continue to monitor the situation daily to ensure that we are delivering on that commitment,” Mr Nobilo said.
The price of petrol will rise by four cents per litre and Diesel by 3 cents per litre making the new pump price at most
Shell service stations 112.9 for 91 octane, 117.9 for 96 octane and 72.9 for Diesel. In some cases the amount of the
increase could vary based on local market conditions. Shell’s wholesale price will increase at mid night Tuesday.
