Samsung Brings Superior Optics To The Digital World
New to the New Zealand digital camera market this month is Samsung’s Digimax 350SE. Importer and distributor C.R. Kennedy NZ is excited about latest Samsung offering, describing it as an excellent example of the advances being made in digital camera technology and functionality.
The Digimax 350SE is a 3.3 megapixel camera with a 1/1.8” CCD. It’s packed with all the features that make top quality picture taking simple, user friendly and fun.
A key point of interest for anyone looking for superior optics is the world famous German manufactured Schneider lens. “Combining superb Schneider optics with Samsung’s superior digital technology is a recipe for brilliant results,” says Rob Jelas, C.R. Kennedy’s managing director. “This is a premium product at a standard price.”
The Schneider zoom lens has a focal length of 7.0-21.0 mm (equivalent to a 34-102mm lens on 35mm film), while the real image optical viewfinder gives the feel of a traditional SLR camera and increased functionality for a wider range of conditions.
The camera has an auto focus 3X optical zoom and a 2X digital zoom, and a 1.5” TFT colour LCD monitor. It comes bundled with an extra large capacity 32MB CompactFlash Card that can store up to 540 images. MGI PhotoSuite SE software is also included so you can get creative manipulating your photos, with endless possibilities.
A moving picture mode allows you to record and playback video clips with audio from 10 to 30 seconds. And a separate voice memo lets you tag fun audio clips to your pictures, or remind yourself of the ‘who, what and where’ details that can otherwise get forgotten.
The Digimax 350SE is one of eight new digital cameras that Samsung has launched onto the international market this year. With consumers expected to buy almost eight million digital cameras worldwide in 2002 (a 32% increase over last year) Samsung is planning on being a major player in the market.
The 350SE will impress photographers who want a hi-spec camera that offers flexibility, capacity and excellent optics. C.R. Kennedy distributes the camera through photographic stores nationwide. Recommended retail price is $1499, including software and a rechargeable battery set.
