Fonterra Makes Senior Legal Appointment

David Matthews has been appointed General Counsel of Fonterra Co-operative Group, the company's Chief Financial Officer, Graham Stuart, announced today.
"David's breadth of experience in both his legal practice and the corporate sector - across a number of industries, geographies and transaction types - prepares him well to make a valuable contribution to the Fonterra senior team," said Mr Stuart.
Mr Matthews was previously Australian Corporate Counsel at Telecom New Zealand. Prior to that he was General Counsel of Arnott's Biscuits Ltd and then Campbell Asia Pacific. His legal career has spanned 15 years working for large Australian and New Zealand companies as well as major law firms in Sydney and London. Mr Matthews has expertise in corporate law, commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions, trade practices and international and domestic financing.
David Matthews reports to Mr Stuart. He is based in Auckland.
