Webby Candidate Goes Ballistic

Webby Song To Launch 1,000 Rockets
As part of their all-out effort to overtake NASA in the People's Voice section of the 2002 Webby Awards,
SciTechDaily.com are staging a free public fireworks spectacular for their campaign song launch this Thursday.
"Thanks to wonderful offers from our local supporters, particularly Antony Lealand of Fireworks Professionals, we are
going to take the fight right to NASA's backyard with a one-thousand rocket launch!," says Vicki Hyde,
SciTechDaily.com's Managing Editor.
Some lucky person at the event will get to set the rockets off.

Other activities at the multi-media event, to be held at Christchurch's Sumner Beach from 5.30pm, will include a
medieval sword bout between champions representing NASA and SciTechDaily.com, black powder cannon fire and a
fireworks-enhanced live performance of the SciTechDaily.com campaign song by local celebrity Malcolm McNeill.
"This is a family event, and everyone's welcome," says Hyde. "We're just hoping they'll go home and vote for
SciTechDaily.com."
The Sixth Annual Webby Awards recognise the world's leading Internet sites. SciTechDaily.com is one of five final
nominations in the Science Category, and is currently running a strong second to NASA in the publicly voted People's
Voice section of the Awards. Voting for that is open until June 7. The main awards are decided by the International
Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, and will be announced in San Francisco on June 18.
