New Zealand's third Sony Style showroom opens in Wellington
Auckland, March 7, 2002 -- The latest electronic advancements will literally be at Wellingtonians' fingertips when Sony opens its new Sony Style showroom in the capital this Monday (March 11).
Sony Style, situated alongside the BNZ Tower at 1 Willis Street in the central city, showcases Sony's latest innovations in an environment that encourages people to interact with and experience the technology.
"Sony Style is all about being hands-on," explains Sony Style Group Manager Clark Hamilton. "We want people to be able to experience our products: to touch and try, look and listen, and find the product that suits them best."
Sony Style is designed to demonstrate the company's emphasis on connectivity. Sony products are created to work in harmony with each other: televisions, videos, HiFi systems, Handycams, digital still cameras, computers and software to create and enjoy.
"For example Sony Style Wellington has two purpose-built sound rooms where you can experience the latest home theatre and HiFi components as you would in your own home," says Hamilton.
While all featured products are for sale, and there is a team of seven specially trained Sony staff on-hand to help, part of the ethos behind Sony Style is to provide the public with a no-pressure atmosphere.
"Sony Style is the place you go to see the latest developments in home, car and personal electronics. It's a showroom, not a sales room, and our main aim is to capture people's imaginations with Sony's innovations so we can build the market for all Sony dealers throughout New Zealand," says Hamilton.
The Sony brand is synonymous with innovation, technological leadership and visionary thinking. Sony Style showcases those attributes alongside the entire range of Sony consumer electronics available in New Zealand, including the very latest "must-haves" developed by Sony.
The Wellington showroom is the third Sony Style to open in New Zealand, joining the Auckland and Christchurch showrooms that opened in 1999 and 2000 respectively.
