Global Dairy Company Name To Include ‘Co-Operative’
The word ‘co-operative’ will be included in Global Dairy Company’s name when it is announced sometime over the next six weeks, Chairman John Roadley told the Ravensdown Agribusiness 2001 conference in Palmerston North today.
“Global Dairy Company is proud to be a co-operative and we always will be,” Mr Roadley said. “The merger maintains our industry under the ownership of New Zealand dairy farmers, and our shareholders demand that. The co-operative principle is non-negotiable and our performance over the last decade relative to the rest of the economy doesn’t suggest it has held us back. I want the word ‘co-operative’ to appear in our company name when it is announced sometime over the next six weeks.”
Mr Roadley told the conference that it continues to be “head down” for Global Dairy Company as it works towards its launch date. He said the company is committed to making fast progress on delivering the promises it has made to shareholders, the public and the Government to perform. The company plans to earn the pride and allegiance of its shareholders and all New Zealanders, Mr Roadley said.
