Media Release
NZPA journalists on strike
Forty journalists at the NZ Press Association are joining their colleagues at the NZ Herald on strike.
The agency journalists walked off the job at 3.30pm today and will not return to work before midnight tonight.
More than 100 journalists at the NZ Herald are into the fourth day of their current strike, and will not return to work before 10am tomorrow.
Both groups are angry that their employers are trying to deny many of them the right to be covered by collective employment agreements. The NZ Herald is owned by Wilson and Horton, a major shareholder in NZPA.
