Commission To Release Lion/Montana Decision On December 8
The Commerce Commission will release its decision on Lion Nathan Limited's application for clearance to acquire all the shares in Montana Group (NZ) Limited on Friday, December 8.
The Commission's Commerce Act Manager, Geoff Thorn, said that the decision had been due today but the Commission required more time to investigate the application, and Lion agreed to the extension.
The Commerce Act prohibits business acquisitions that result in dominance being acquired or strengthened in any market.
Parties can apply for a clearance, which the Commission will give if it is satisfied that dominance is not acquired or strengthened.
