Peter Troughton Appointed 4RF Communication's Chai

4RF Communications Ltd today announced that Dr Peter Troughton has joined its Board as Chairman.
Based in Wellington, 4RF Communications is a New Zealand electronic engineering company dedicated to creating digital wireless radio link equipment for the world market.
As Chairman, Peter Troughton will guide the company's international initiatives and direct the corporate strategy leading towards the ultimate objective of a float on the US Nasdaq technology stock market.
Troughton comments "I have watched with interest the growth of digital wireless radio links used for a range of communication applications.
The growth in this sector is accelerating dramatically.
We have a very dynamic team, with significant potential, working in the key areas of e-business and communication technologies".
About Peter Troughton Most recently Peter Troughton has been the driving force behind Australia's A$28 billion energy privatisation programme in the state of Victoria.
In New Zealand he is better known for his work as the Chief Executive of Telecom New Zealand, re-engineering the company for privatisation in 1990 and subsequent public float in 1991.
From 1992 to 1993 Troughton chaired the establishment board of Trans Power and was a director of the Crown Health Enterprise Development Unit.
He also worked on the State Owned Enterprise steering committee.
He was appointed Chairman of the New Zealand manufacturer of microwave communication systems, MAS Technology Ltd, in 1993.
The company listed on the Nasdaq in 1997.
Silicon Valley based Digital Microwave Corporation acquired MAS Technology in 1998.
Management Team Strengthened Also joining the 4RF management team are Brian Leighs, as Chief Financial Officer, and Matthew Hansen as Sales and Marketing Manager.
Brian has extensive financial experience in the energy and telecommunications industries and has project managed a number of privatisations and IPOs including the MAS Technology Nasdaq float.
Matthew's background includes MAS Technology and most recently strategic account management at Ericsson Communications.
