Telstra-Saturn Awards Contracts For Christchurch Network
Wellington, June 7 - Telstra-Saturn today awarded two Christchurch businesses multi-million dollar contracts to build its telecommunications networks in the city.
The telco was due to start network construction later this month in both the central business district and residential areas, at a total cost of about $200 million, chief executive Jack Matthews said in a statement.
Utility contracting business Connetics would carry out most of the network construction, while BICC General Cable New Zealand, which supplied copper and fibre-optic cabling for Telstra-Saturn's Wellington network, would provide cabling.
