PHILIPS SETS NEW STANDARD FOR TV VIEWING
Philips has set a new standard in TV technology with the launch today (March 1) of its new Matchline TV - the Philips RF100 (Real Flat 100 hertz).
This latest model in its renowned Matchline range comes with a unique feature - Digital Natural Motion (DNM). This feature, which was invented by Philips, eliminates the annoying juddering effects of moving objects on the screen and is the first and only TV in the world to do so.
Marketing manager Philips Consumer Electronics, Brett McMeekin, says the RF100 television introduces the most advanced technology, guaranteeing the best viewing experience possible.
"As well as the Digital Natural Motion feature, this TV also offers 100 Hz digital scan - another Philips invention, which creates the smoothest images ever. It basically offers a picture as stable as a slide," he says.
"So, with the combination of smooth and judder-free movement, watching TV has never been more relaxing," he says.
To complete the total viewing experience, RF100 provides a Dolby Pro-Logic Surround sound system that brings a highly realistic, all- round cinema-style listening experience to the living room. The sound output it generates is four times that of a normal TV.
Not only does this television provide relaxed, quality viewing with excellent picture and sound quality - it looks good too. Its sleek, silver design adds a touch of style to the top digital technology that it offers.
"Philips has designed a TV that makes sophisticated technology simple to use, and great to look at. It's a perfect fusion of style and technology," Brett McMeekin says.
"What's more, the Philips RF100 is the new leader of the `TV pack', if independent tests and industry awards are anything to go by. Features of this TV have already won prestigious awards in Europe and it has met with huge success in Asia where it was launched late last year.
