AMEX Cup Village Update:
The Exponents concert due to be held this Friday has been postponed until Sunday starting at the earlier time of 5pm.
This is due to the weather clearing by Sunday.
There was only one place to be on Tuesday evening and that was the AMEX Yacht Club. Situated right opposite the Young
America base it was standing room only as everyone watched the damaged boat being towed in and eventually lifted out of
the water. TV One has broadcast live off the AMEX Yacht Club four times this week. A New Zealand crew shooting for
Italian television this week also filmed it.
The AMEX Cup Village is proving to be a popular place for VIP's visiting New Zealand. Already this week we have hosted a
trade delegation from Australian including a Minister from the Northern Territory and also we were honoured to host the
Chubu Economic Federation who were guests of the Nippon Challenge. This included the heads of many of Japans major
companies.
The boats just get bigger and better. The 53-metre Independence is proving to be a major drawcard in the AMEX Cup
Village. Berthed near the Louis Vuitton media centre there is a never a time when at least a few people aren't leaning
over the barrier dreaming of what it must be like to be on board such a luxury vessel. Today Fresia also arrived in the
marina; it is situated near the Spanish syndicate and was built not that along in Holland for its American owner. It's
especially built as an explorer vessel so that it can go to all corners of the world.
The AMEX Cup Village is now counting down to its millionth visitor and a special promotion is planned around this event.
Excitement appears to be reaching almost fever pitch if the number of phone calls are any indication about the British
band S Club 7 performing in the AMEX Cup Village. Their free concert starts at midday on Saturday November 20th.
