Isn't it time you got to know your neighbours? "Street Meet" Week, being promoted by Auckland City to encourage people to get together with their neighbours over a cup of tea, is next week, from November 1 to November 7.
A "Street Meet" how-to pack - containing recipes for scones and muffins, tea bags and tips for getting to know your neighbours - is available from Auckland City. Included is a competition for the best "Street Meet" photo and the prize is a hamper - yet another excuse to get together over a cuppa.
Auckland City Community Development manager, Judy Collins, says the promotion is all about developing strong communities where people support each other and have pride in their neighbourhoods.
"Then there Is the added security of knowing who lives next door in times of need."
"Street Meet" packs can be obtained by contacting Catherine Gilhooly on Ph 379 2020.
