Police investigating after man sustains gunshot injury

Attribute to Senior Sergeant Graeme Fleming, Counties Manukau Police:
Police are conducting a number of enquiries following an incident where a man presented at Middlemore Hospital yesterday afternoon with a gunshot wound.
The man remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Senior Sergeant Graeme Fleming says the investigation into this incident is in its early stages.
“We are carrying out a number of enquiries as we work to piece together the circumstances around what has taken place.”
A short time prior to the victim presenting at hospital, Police were notified around 3.40pm to a report of an altercation on Grayson Ave, Papatoetoe where a firearm was seen.
Senior Sergeant Fleming says Police are looking at the possibility that these two incidents may be linked.
