"Serious crash in Matamata, Waikato"
Police are attending a serious crash on SH27-Firth Street, Matamata.
A car and cyclist collided at about 6.40pm this evening.
The cyclist is in a critical condition and a rescue helicopter has been dispatched.
The road will be closed for some time while emergency services are at the scene.
Diversions are in place, so motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.
