"Report of drone activity near Hagley Park, Christchurch "
Police have received a report of a drone flying near Hagley Park in Christchurch this morning.
Police ask that anyone operating a drone cease this immediately.
We are responding to try to identify the person responsible and have the drone brought down.
Drone activity has the potential to stop all helicopters responding to the Christchurch terror attack.
Police would remind people there is currently a no-fly zone in place and the penalties for someone caught breaching this are severe.
Our priority is to ensure the helicopters can continue working safely.
