Man shot by Police in Kawerau dies

Update and media advisory – man shot by Police in Kawerau
Police can confirm the man who was shot by Police in Kawerau has died.
Immediate first aid was provided however he died at the scene.
A number of investigations are now underway and Police will be at the scene for some time, with cordons and diversions in place.
Police are in contact with the man’s family but will not be releasing any further details about the man’s identity at this early stage.
The IPCA has been notified.
An update will be provided at a press conference later today.
Bay of Plenty District Commander Superintendent Andy McGregor will address media at 5pm at Kawerau Police Station on Bledisloe St.
