Man arrested after hit and run incident in Mission Bay

Police have arrested and charged a 21-year-old man following an incident in Mission Bay yesterday morning.
A 15-year-old was walking to school on Kepa Road about 6.50am when a vehicle mounted the footpath and allegedly struck and knocked him down.
He received serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
The teenager was kept in hospital overnight but has made a good recovery and is expected to be discharged today.
At the time, the driver allegedly got out of the vehicle and fled.
Two other people were in the car at the time.
The driver later handed himself in to Police.
A 21-year-old man has now been charged with a number of driving related charges and is due to appear in the Auckland District Court today.
As the matter is now before the courts, Police are not in a position to comment further.
