Serious crash on Central Ave, Whangarei

Police are in attendance at a serious crash on Central Ave, Whangarei.
Police were called to the crash involving a car and motorcycle at about 1.20pm.
The motorcyclist has been transported to hospital in a critical condition.
Occupants in the other vehicle received minor injuries.
Central Ave is currently closed at the intersection of Maunu Road and Water Street and at Second Ave.
Police advise motorists to avoid the area if possible as the road will remain closed for a few hours.
The Serious Crash Unit is in attendance.
