"Update: Search for helicopter, Lake Wanaka"
A Police-led search around Lake Wanaka for a missing helicopter and pilot has been suspended for the day.
The search will resume tomorrow at first light.
The helicopter, piloted by Matthew Wallis, was reported overdue about lunchtime yesterday.
The Police National Dive Squad began a search of the lake this afternoon.
Police would like to thank all involved in today’s efforts, particularly the community volunteers.
