National Park Village Tornado Report #8 – 8.00am

Tornado in National Park Village
Things were quite overnight in National Park with no change from yesterday evening.
The cordon remained in place overnight.
There were no incidents reported.
There was about 1cm of snow overnight and it is currently snowing lightly.
The snow is not expected to affect recovery operations.
Property owners and insurance assessors should be able to access properties later today.
The RDC building team will be on site this morning to post notices on restricted buildings.
Ruapehu Civil Defence will be working with any displaced persons as required to ensure there are arrangements in place for their accommodation.
The Welfare Centre is still operational in the National Park School hall.
Anyone in need of assistance is asked to go to the Welfare Centre.
