ONEHUNGA FESTIVAL HOSTS SUMMER FAMILY FUN
Headline act SWIDT promises to draw crowds to the annual summer event at Onehunga Bay Reserve
Auckland, NZ, March 1, 2018– The Onehunga Business Association is bringing summer fun on Saturday 3 March with the return of the Onehunga Festival. Complete with headline act SWIDT, the free festival has water activities, amusements. stalls and local entertainment for family fun.
“It is great to bring the festival back to its home at the Onehunga Bay Reserve in 2018” says Onehunga Business Association event organizer Amanda Wellgreen.
Having access to the Onehunga lagoon means families can enjoy water activities alongside a variety of music and dance, entertainment for children such as petting zoo, extreme air jumpers and an adventure run. There are also stalls with food & drink, community groups and some retail. The festival will provide lots of enjoyable options for locals to participate in.”
Rixen Cableways will also be launching their new splash track at the Onehunga Festival so the adventurous can have some fun out in the water. Children and their parents can also try their hand at wakeboarding, paddleboarding, paddling in waka ama or a kayak.
Onehunga has an active community with successful events such as the annual Christmas parade so the festival promises to be diverse and fun.
The event is sponsored by Maungakiekie-Tamaki Local Board with the support of Transpower, Mercury, Jackson Industries, Panuku Development, Denise Lee, MP for Maungakiekie and Grove Mitre 10 Onehunga.
