Attribute to Senior Sergeant Peter Robinson, Kerikeri Police
Police remain in the Ahipara area as the search continues for a male following a firearms incident this morning.
Police were first notified around 10.30am following an incident on Takahe Rd where shots were fired at a property.
Several people were inside the address at the time, but fortunately no-one was harmed.
Multiple cordons are in place, including around Takahe Rd as Police, including the Armed Offenders Squad and Eagle, search for the male who remains outstanding.
Ahipara School remains in lockdown as a precaution.
Residents are advised to stay inside.
Media and the public will be notified when there is any further development.
