Coromandel summer tips and information
The Coromandel celebrates summer by hosting many visitors and events and to help make sure everyone has equal access to and enjoyment of all our beaches and reserves, we have a few summer tips to please keep in mind..
Our "Coromandel Summer Tips" brochure can be viewed online here or pick up a copy from one of our services centres.
The brochure provides a summary of some rules in place across the District - so we can all enjoy summertime on the Coromandel - as well as making sure that what we do does not have a harmful impact on others and on the landscape around us.
Some things to know about over summer is that we have liquor bans in place ove peak summer. The Alcohol Bans include holiday long weekends, and note you can get an instant fine of $250 or be arrested if you breach the ban.
Our Council service centres will be closed on the public holidays (25 - 26 December 2017 and 1 - 2 January 2018). Our operating hours between Christmas and the New Year (27 - 29 December 2017) will be 9.00am - 4.00pm for all our offices except the Coromandel Town Service Centre, which will be closed.
Our District libraries (Thames, Tairua and Mercury Bay) hours will be:
• Closed from Friday 22 December at 3pm
• Open to reduced hours, 9.30am - 3.00pm, on Wednesday 27 December.
• Open Thursday 28 December and Friday 29 December, 9.00am - 3.00pm.
• Closed again from Saturday 30 December.
• Re-open to normal business hours at 9.30am on Wednesday 3 January 2018.
For more about our libraries see www.tcdc.govt.nz/libraries and follow them on Facebook.
The Thames Centennial Pool will be closed on public holidays, otherwise open Monday - Friday, 6am - 8am and 11am - 6.30pm and Saturday - Sunday, 11am - 5pm.
For all you need to know about Council summer hours, Kerbside collections, fire permits, water conservation, noise complaints, dog and horse rules, freedom camping, boat ramps, roading, drones and much more go to www.tcdc.govt.nz/summerinfo.
