Wakefield asked to conserve water.

Wakefield asked to conserve water.
Wakefield’s water supplies are begging to feel the effects of the hot windy days we are currently experiencing.
The recent dry weather has seen levels of water drop within the well supplying Wakefield - with no significant rain on the horizon, people in the Wakefield area are asked to conserve water to allow the well to recover.
At this time of year, many people are establishing their seedlings in their vege gardens and using a lot of water to keep these healthy. For all watering needs please only hand water using watering cans or a hand held hose. Sprinkler systems use a lot more water than people think, and much of the water can be wasted on areas that don’t need watering.
Please don’t fill swimming pools and if you have to wash your car please use a bucket.
Please call in any leaks you notice. Our customer services helpline is answered 24/7 – phone 543 8400.
The Wakefield supply area covers the area from the Spring Grove church (on Main Road Hope) as far south far as Baigent Valley Road (on the Wakefield-Kohatu Highway), east as far as Fellbridge rise off Edward Street and includes part of Pigeon Valley Road
