The Warehouse and Oranga Ha - Tai Poutini: Stop Smoking West Coast are teaming up to support people on the Coast to
become smokefree.
This Saturday (2 September) West Coasters are being encouraged to come along to The Warehouse in Greymouth and sign up
to stop smoking with Oranga Ha - Tai Poutini: Stop Smoking West Coast.
Smokefree coach Trish Hunt says a pack-a-day smoker could save $2,300 by Christmas if they quit smoking.
“We can help you save thousands by Christmas. Imagine all that money loaded onto your Warehouse Christmas Club Card, or
used to pay for a family holiday?” says Trish.
“The vast majority of smokers want to quit but it can be tricky. The right support makes all the difference, and that’s
where we come in! You’re five times more likely to successfully stop smoking if you have the right support.”

by The Warehouse. The Oranga Ha - Tai Poutini: Stop Smoking West Coast team will also be giving away spot prizes.

According to Census data there were 4,794 regular smokers on the Coast in 2013, giving a smoking prevalence of 20.5%.
This is rate is higher than for the wider New Zealand population (according to the 2013 Census 15% of the adult
population smokes).
