Queenstown Trails Trust Encourages Businesses To Enter Aotearoa Bike Challenge
The Queenstown Trails Trust is encouraging Queenstown businesses to support the New Zealand Transport Agency’s Aotearoa Bike Challenge in February which aims to get more people on bikes.
“The Trust is fully behind this initiative and is calling on local employers to sign up teams to the challenge and inspire staff to take part in a daily ride during February,” says CEO Mandy Kennedy.
She says the challenge is free and its mission is to persuade more people to give cycling a try or simply ride their bikes more often.
“It’s all about participation and all employers have to do is sign up teams and motivate their staff to get out and ride for at least ten minutes a day. Teams log their rides and businesses who achieve the highest numbers of staff riding a bike during February are up for fantastic prizes.”
The Trust has joined forces with a number of local organisations to host a series of events in January and February, designed to raise awareness of the Aotearoa Bike Challenge and inspire people to get involved.
