Cordons in place near Kaikohe as Police search for a male
Northland Police are currently searching for a male who fled from a car in which a firearm was allegedly pointed at another vehicle at Broadwood, north of Kaikohe, around 12.30pm.
Cordons are in place at the State Highway One intersection of Te Pua Rd, and at the end of that road on State Highway 12 near Kaikohe.
Police were called by a member of the public who reported the sighting of the firearm.
The car fled the scene and was found abandoned on Te Pua Rd.
Three males decamped from the car and fled into farmland near Te Pua Rd.
A female and two of the males have been located and arrested.
A search is now underway for one male.
This incident is not related to the separate searches underway for Joshua Kite or Mark Fletcher.
