Flaxmere school incident resolved
Police have today spoken to the man who was reported to have offered a 9 year-old girl a ride in a car outside her school in Peterhead Avenue, Flaxmere yesterday.
Police are satisfied after speaking with the man that no risk is posed to the community, and no longer have concerns about the incident.
“It appears that the girl involved mistakenly thought she was being spoken to about getting into the car, when in fact it was another child being picked up who the man was speaking to,” said Constable Michael Kaye of the Flaxmere Neighbourhood Policing Team.
“We would like to thank the community and the school for their assistance.
The girl and her family did the right thing in raising their concerns with Police.
“We are glad to have been able to resolve it for those involved and put the community’s minds at ease,” said Constable Kaye.
