Chemical spill in Motueka
People are being advised to avoid the corner of High St and Tudor St in Motueka, while emergency services clean up a small chemical spill.
Some hydrogen cynamide – known as Hi-Cane – has leaked from a barrel on the back of a truck and onto the road.
Locals in the vicinity of the spill are advised to stay indoors and keep their windows shut.
Fire, Police and Ambulance services are in attendance.
Contractors have been called in to clear up the spill.
