Man charged following truck and digger crash into Penrose overbridge
To be attributed to Inspector Trevor Beggs, Road Policing Manager, Waitemata Police
Waitemata Police have charged a 65 year-old Taupo man in relation to a crash on an Auckland motorway.
The man was allegedly driving a truck with a digger on the back, when it smashed into the Penrose overbridge last Monday.
The man has been charged with dangerous driving and will appear in the Auckland District Court on Tuesday 7 June at 8.30am.
Upon conviction, the charge of dangerous driving carries a mandatory disqualification period from driving of 6 months.
It is also punishable by a term of imprisonment of up to 3 months and a fine of up to $4500.00
