Find out what's planned in the Thames area this year
We're putting together our work programme for the 2016/17 financial year and you can find out what projects are in the
works for the Thames area.
Come to the Thames War Memorial Civic Centre at 200 Mary Street from 11:30am-1:30pm onFriday 29 April.
The work programme being put together right now will form our Annual Plan, which will go to Council at its 29 June
meeting for adoption.
So far, our work programme for 2016/17 follows closely what was projected in the 2015-2025 Long Term Plan (LTP), with
only small differences to adapt to changes in circumstances as more detailed cost estimates and tenders have been
received.
We're also currently projecting a rates increase of about 2%, a bit less than the 2.61% that was forecast in the LTP.
Meanwhile, our focus continues to be on delivering core business and progressing our major projects: the Coromandel
Great Walks (www.tcdc.govt.nz/corogreatwalks) , the Coromandel Harbour infrastructure upgrade (www.tcdc.govt.nz/coroharbourproject ) , Stage 2 of the Hauraki Rail Trail from Kopu to Kaiaua (www.tcdc.govt.nz/hrt) and Stage 2 of our WWI Memorial Forest project (www.tcdc.govt.nz/ww1memorialforest).
All these major projects are not falling solely to our ratepayers as we have external partners and funds contributing to
them.
Recent legislation means that if there are no significant or material differences in a proposed Annual Plan from what
was projected in our Long Term Plan, there is no requirement for formal consultation.
We would still like to get your feedback on our work programme, so next Friday is a chance to meet with Thames Community
Board members and staff to discuss projects and budgets.
Thames is the last of our Community Board areas to hold a public information session on the Annual Plan. If you want to

Seeding fund for grant money toward Thames monument works: $20,000
Thames Goldfields 150th anniversary: Thames Community Board is looking for community involvement in the 2017 anniversary
Thames promotions: Visitor Solutions is currently working on a visitor strategy for Thames
Water supply renewals and replacement of three Thames water mains: $680,000 (District project)
