State Highway 88, Port Chalmers highway, road repairs at night continuing past 18 March to next week
The NZ Transport Agency’s contractors have been repairing several sections of State Highway 88, the road between Dunedin and Port Chalmers, since Sunday, 13 March.
“This work is going well but will continue until Thursday, 24 March, instead of the earlier advertised finish date of 18 March,” said Graeme Hall, NZ Transport Agency Journey Manager. “If it is wet next week, these dates may have to be revised again.”
The plan is for night work to be completed Wednesday night/ Thursday morning 23 and 24 March with final chip-sealing during the daytime hours of Thursday, 24 March.
To maintain access, there are temporary traffic signals at night and manual Stop/ Go during the day.
“Thanks to everyone who uses this road for taking care around crews and building in extra time.”
