Serious Road Crash - SH2 Karangahake Gorge - Waikato
Waikato Police ask that all travellers avoid using SH2 Karangahake Gorge between Waihi and Paeroa following a serious
crash in the gorge itself. Due to the nature of the crash the road will be closed for some time and travellers are asked
to use the Kopu Hikuae Road from Thames or SH29 Kaimai to access the Bay of Plenty, similarly the reverse if travelling
towards the Waikato. Police ask that drivers take all due care and attention when driving, the roads are busy and
patience is needed.
