Council receives over 400 submissions to draft dog control rules
Our Dog Control Policy and Dog Control Bylaw are currently being reviewed and a proposal was out for consultation from 6 November to 7 December 2015.
We received 429 submissions which will all be used by Council in making decisions on the proposed policy and bylaw, including any changes.
We're currently contacting all the submitters who told us they would like to speak at a hearing in support of their submission. If you made a submission but didn't tell us if you want to speak, you can call us on 07 868 0200 to book a time. The hearing will be in Thames on 11 February with a reserve day being 12 February.
The new policy and bylaw will be in place in mid-2016. Until then the current rules apply.
Key dates
• Hearing meeting - 11/12 February
• Deliberations meeting - 17 March
• Council meeting to adopt final policy and bylaw - 18 May
