Shooting - 9 January - Hamilton - Waikato
"Waikato Police are appealing for information in relation to the shooting of a male on Saturday the 9th of January 2016 at an address on Higgins Road, Hamilton.
Detective Sergeant William Loughrin said a scene examination, witness interviews and canvass of the local area for CCTV and information has been completed.
The victim has been discharged from hospital and is recovering with family.
Police have identified a white hatchback with black roof racks as a vehicle of interest and believe the occupants of this vehicle can assist Police with the investigation.
Police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen this vehicle near the Higgins Road area of Hamilton between 12.30 am - 5.00 am on Saturday morning.
Detective Sergeant William Loughrin said the victim was targeted and this was an isolated incident.
A number of people connected to the incident hold information that they have not yet shared Police and we would like those people to come forward.
Police have not ruled out gang involvement in the shooting.
