Second set of youth Waka Wall panels on display at Te Takere
Youth artwork once again adorns the 10 concrete waka walls outside Te Takere in Levin.
The two-metre-tall panels will remain on display for the duration of the school holidays, until the beginning of February 2016.
As part of the Waka Walls Project, young people aged between 12 and 24-years-old from Horowhenua were invited to submit artwork earlier this year, attracting 51 design submissions from 49 young people.
The first ten artwork panels went on display in May, followed by a set of Te Ao Maori heritage boards in October. Further displays are planned for rotation during 2016.
The 10 new artworks displayed on the waka walls are all by artists aged 15-19:
· Frances Bacon
· Eliana Bell
· Kristal Davidson
· Yasmin Hansen-Purchas
· Sasha Henderson-Tukuniu
· Bailey Kingi
· Savanna Page
· Anica Roelofsz
· Jodeci Ropoama
· Karen Ryan
