Māori And Pasifika Business Growth at Forefront of Wellington 'First' Networking Event

What would happen if we put business savvy Māori and Pasifika under one roof to tell their stories, successes and
failures? That is what Chairman of the Wellington Pasifika Business Network, Paul Retimanu, wants to unearth at the
upcoming Te Awe Māori and Pasifika Business Network Showcase.
A Wellington First is looming for the business community, as Te Awe Māori Business Network and the Wellington Pasifika
Business Network will join forces to share success stories and showcase their business services and products to a
diverse audience.
A night that will include business leaders showcasing Pasifika aspirations, ideas and the driving nature of the business
market in Wellington, Paul Retimanu believes this event will highlight the diversity and beauty of both cultures.
"This is an opportunity to encourage our Māori and Pacific people into business, to network and share their expertise.
"The Māori and Pacific demographic in New Zealand is growing. We make a significant contribution towards the economic
development and growth of this country and it is important we acknowledge that.
"The Pasifika Business Network was established to bring business owners and budding entrepreneurs together through a
forum that celebrates success, growth and innovation. This combined event does exactly that.
"If you don't run a business but are looking into it, this will be a prime opportunity to see some of the great work
being done by Māori and Pasifika in the business space." Says Paul Retimanu.
Patron of the Wellington Pasifika Business Network Board, Luamanuvao Winnie Laban also believes the business space is an
important space to be in. "The business space has the potential to help Māori and Pasifika enjoy the benefits of
economic growth by contributing to the economic goals of this country with their own ideas and areas of expertise."
Māori and Pasifika businesses are also being given the opportunity to set-up-shop on the night.
