HBRC Chairman pleased community to have their say on amalgamation
Hawke’s Bay Regional Council Chairman Fenton Wilson says he’s pleased the community will get to decide whether the region’s five councils will amalgamate.
The Local Government Commission has just released its final proposal for the reorganisation of Hawke’s Bay councils and is proposing a single council with 18 councillors and a mayor, along with five boards, with 37 elected members.
Fenton Wilson says there has been much debate about the reorganisation of local government and he’s pleased the public will now get a chance to have their say on whether or not the region’s five councils should be amalgamated.
