Two die in crash

Two die in crash
Two women are dead following a two-vehicle head on crash that occurred at approximately 1:45pm today on Devon Road, New Plymouth.
Ambulance, Fire, and Police attended the scene after being contacted by a member of the public about the crash.
The drivers were the sole occupants in the vehicles and first aid was administered to both women however they were pronounced dead at the scene.
A scene examination is underway and Devon Road is currently closed, however diversions have been put in place.
New Plymouth Police are investigating the crash supported by the Serious Crash Unit.
The deaths will be referred to the Coroner in due course.
Police will not release the names of the deceased until formal ID is completed and next of kin has been informed.
