Regional Council providing free buses for Rotorua Anzac Day Service
People planning to attend Rotorua’s Anzac Day Civic Memorial Service can travel to and from the service for free on Rotorua’s Cityride bus network.
Bay of Plenty Regional Council, which manages the Cityride network, has made the bus network free for that purpose on the morning of Saturday 25 April, until 12pm.
Rotorua’s Anzac Day Civic Memorial Service is being held at the Rotorua Energy Events Centre at 9.30am on Saturday 25 April.
The Regional Council will also provide a free shuttle so people can travel between the central city bus terminus and the service. The shuttle will run every 20 minutes from 7.40am until 12pm, on a loop incorporating Pukuatua Street, the Lakefront and the Energy Events Centre.
Lyall Thurston, Bay of Plenty Regional Councillor and Chair of the Public Transport Subcommittee, said the Regional Council was pleased to be offering the free buses and the shuttle service, recognising the significance of the WW1 commemorative events.
Cityride users are reminded that no buses will operate in Rotorua onMonday 27 April.
