Man charged with murder, Papatoetoe
Counties Manukau Police have arrested a 38 year old man and charged him with murder following an incident at a Papatoetoe address last night.
He will be appearing at the Manukau District Court today.
Police arrived at the address just after 7pm to find a 48 year old woman bleeding heavily as a result of injuries received from a sharp instrument and commenced CPR. Ambulance staff continued CPR when they arrived shortly after, but the woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A forensic examination will take place at the address today and a post-mortem examination will be conducted this afternoon.
The man and woman both lived at the Papatoetoe address.
There were a number of people present at the address at the time of the incident and Police will be speaking to them.
Police are not looking for anyone else in relation to this incident.
No further information will be available now that the case is before the courts.
